Coonamble Youth Empowerment Program
The Coonamble Youth Empowerment Program is a capacity building project for the young people of Coonamble Shire, based on a successful global initiative.
It builds capacity through a focus on inner self growth and outer participation in activities that improves the local community. It encourages families and the community to create an environment in which young people can flourish and contribute purposefully.
There are two streams to the project, for different age groups:
- Junior Youth Stream, best suited to 11 to 14-year-olds (those in Years 6 to 9); register here.
- The Youth Champions Stream, best suited for youth aged 15 and upwards; register here.
The first intake will be offered from mid-February, after school hours and/or on weekends.
To register, a parent or guardian is welcome to complete the form for those under 18 years of age.
What happens in a Junior Youth Group? Between 10 and 15 young people come together as a Junior Youth Group, with the supervision of a facilitator, to:

What happens in the Youth Champions Group? Between 10 and 15 older youth come together as a group to champion the youth of Coonamble. As a Youth Champion, you can expect to develop:
A Youth Champion proactively contributes to the development of a new generation of conscious, compassionate and confident young people who will themselves become the future leaders of the community. |

REDI.e Youth Centre (Coonamble)
REDI.e operates a Youth Centre in Coonamble, at the corner of McMahon and Railway Streets. For full details, please visit the Facebook page here.
Gulargambone Youth Centre (Gulargambone)
The Gulargambone Youth Centre is located at 37-39 Warrie Street, Gulargambone. It is open on most weekday afternoons during school term and for special activities during the school holiday program.
Children (up to age 11) and junior youth (aged 12 to 14) are welcome at the Centre during the school term.
Some offsite activities are organised. For children to be considered for these activities, they need to be attending the youth centre on a regular and frequent basis: at least two days each week. Please follow the Facebook page here to keep up to date with activities.
